I only had her one month before I had her bred. The owner said that at the barn she boarded at, that Ginger was the favorite, everyone cried when I picked her up. She's just so very headstrong and opinionated. I think no one ever expected anything from her and consequently, she had the run of the place and so no one ever got to see her real personality. As long as you don't ask her for anything, she's fine! And, you're right, I will be doing some Clinton stuff wiht her, she already knows how to flex, but she just seems to not like anyone. My 15 year old son likes her and we both brushed her the other night, she seemed to like it, but then, we're doing something she wants, not the other way around! She's basically just disrespectful, and although she has had some Clinton type work, they also do alot of Parelli. And not to dis Parelli, but I've noticed that strong willed horses and submissive owners that do the Parelli games just seem to reinforce the strong willed horses to act even stronger!! She's been asked too much for stuff, never told! I tell, and she doesn't much like me for it! She will definitely have a smaller grassy area for her and the baby and I'll add a gelding that is safe (likely Teak) and get baby used to the uncle and slowly remove mom. What is a safe time to wean? Earliest that is?
