Night before last I walked out to let the dog out and saw my mare standing not more than 10 feet away lit up gleming white with dark all around her and her foal inside was a wailing away on her tummy. Poor thing. So there was no doubt then in my mind there is a bunin that oven. The only question was when. Well today she started bagging up so my guess is sometime with in the next few weeks.
Last time she bagged up 5 weeks ahead of time but she was a maiden, this time should it be the same, more, or less? Or is there any real rules?
I do have to say that date puts her right near the date that Laddie died. I can't remember if it was late July or early August that he passed in but it was one of those.
Course then there was a mini colt there too, but he was knee height and only a yearling....I sure hope it wasn't him. He was definitely studly enough. But dang I don't think he could have reached if she had laid down for him, and I doubt she is THAT easy. Guess I will know soon enough.
