Re: Documentary: Nelly and Nadine
Yeah, the images of the liberated women arriving in Sweden are not too horrendous, thank goodness. I just feel there's so much more about Nelly and Nadine that need to be told. First of all they were both in the resistance movement in France during WWII, very heroic obviously, right?! I wanna know more about that. Then they managed to live together in South America against all odds including resentment from Nelly's daughter, but had to tell people they were cousins. How terrible! . Nelly's diary from the camps is so beautifully written, poetic almost (translated from French of course), and full of love for Nadine. I'm also curious about Nadine's background. Sad they are not buried together. Nelly's granddaughter said she didn't know where Nadine was buried. Can't believe she hadn't explored her grandma's life sooner. Anyway, IDK why but this documentary just hit me like no other! Both women were so dignified and beautiful. Hope you are doing well, Alyx.
