Posted by Merckor My 'playlist' workaround relies on other 3rd party plugins (addresses keypad/number entry for choosing playlist by the number before it), Girder and a Remote. This process does not use 'jump to' at all. It directly jumps in the playlist editor window. So thats pretty much it. I am not sure if this can be done in AL, but it would be great to pick and choose albums either from memory or a list by punching in numbers on your remote. (I do this now, but kinda a backwards way using the above process. Since my music is orginized very well by artist/album/song, and once a playlist is created and sorted by directory structure, it looks like the playlist created by Albumlist just WITH the individual songs listed with each album. So, now I can print out the playlist, but before i do i edit it removing all the songs of the album showing only the first artist/album name. Then I printed it. Man, I've spent way to much time on this, but I do have a nice printout of music/albums to choose from without turning on the TV or monitor! (HTPC) Sorry for the long winded post. Will

Yes, both Winamp's 'jump to playlist' and AL 'jump to album' do not show any numbers whatsoever, so jumping that way doesn't seem possible in Winamp or AL alone. (at least that I have found)
The one program I use is 'Winamp Slider'. Slider has a Fastjump function that allows you to change the track by typing in the track number. It also has one other main function that is very important for my HTPC. It allows for you to remap the number keys (0-9) as hotkeys. The hotkeys are system wide and will work in Winamp whether active or not. So, for example, to explain this further, I've remapped the number keys (0-9) in Slider as Alt-Shift-1, Alt-Shift-2, etc. and have mapped my remotes number keys in Girder to execute those keyboard commands. (They are mapped that way so as to not have the numbers executed with just normal typing since Winamp/Slider is listening all the time for the hotkeys) Once done you can play any of the playlist entries whether Winamp is active in the forground or not, by punching in the number on my remote. The key, i've found, to make this great is to have a printout of your playlists with numbers! (I'm really anal about my playlists) Especially with the Karaoke files.

: It is not hard to do...
: just a question though... (as i would
: like it to work more or less like
: the playlist jump to dialog)
: when i type in a number in that
: "jump to", it does not
: show that track... if i type in a
: number in the playlist editor, it
: does not highlight that track...
: as you can see, i have no idea how to
: do that with the playlist
: editor... so how do you people use
: the remote to choose which track
: to play?
: fyi, i have a remote wonder too...

: It seems that this has been a request
: for some time now. But not sure
: if it is something difficult to
: do, since its never been
: addressed.
: I do wonder if anyone using AL has
: somehow created a work around
: regarding entering 'track/album
: numbers' for playing albums? I've
: been using the 'hotkey' function
: in Winamp Slider combined with
: girder for playlist number
: selection for some time with great
: success. (BTW, Winamp Slider is
: an excellent plugin for Winamp
: running on a HTPC). Anyway, if
: anyone has created a workaround
: for this, please email me and let
: the group know. Thanks, Will

: Is it possible , when you "jump
: to
: album", to see the number of
: the playlist? (01-album1;
: 02;album2).
: It's for use with grider (Soft for
: remote IR): so I could just tape
: J/F3 and the number of the
: playlist with my remote
: Thanks
