Large albums

I have my albums structured to about 20 songs each except for one which is the directory containing all other songs (all bits and bobs). This is about 700 songs in size. This large general album takes about three seconds to invoke under v.1.37 but when using v.1.40 this period of time is nearly ten times longer. I was wondering what the reason for this was and whether the new album list had an option to turn this 'new feature' off.
