"People who are really interested in maintaining the better qualities of the breed aren't going to be asking outrageous prices"
Within most hunting dog breeds and breeders this seems to be true but when it comes to some of the so called Airedale hunting line breeders it is plain to see that they are interested in their bank accounts.
To say they have worked harder or have more expenses or know how to breed better than the breeders of other of other hunting dog breeds is "bull". Airedales have no where near the fierce competition going on between the other hunting dog breeds.
Plenty of time and effort goes into breeding training and campaigning champion coon and squirrel dogs. As was already mentioned pups from these dogs can be bought for three or four hundred dollars.
