I am going to assume that wanting a pup from hunting lines means that you are actually planning on hunting your Airedale. I would strongly advise you to do your homework when selecting a breeder.
You do not say what you are going to be hunting so I will have to speak about hunting dogs I know something about. Namely besides Airedales, Coonhounds-running hounds, Rabbit dogs-Beagles and Squirrel hunting breeds like Curs and Fiests, in other words so called fur hunting dogs.
Open any magazine or go to any message board that promotes hunting of the types of game mentioned above and you can get a good idea of what the going rate is of top bred pups. I would say anywhere between $200 and $500 give or take a few bucks is the price range you will find.
Personally I can see no reason why a serious hunter would pay a different price than the going rate for the other hunting breeds mentioned above if they were to be hunting the same types of game.
Buying any pup of any breed for hunting there is always going to be a gamble on how that dog turns out. When it comes to Airedales you really have to know your stuff as very few lines are actually hunted. Makes for much tougher odds than the specialist breeds and anyone that tells you different is a liar.
