Hello Rose,I don't think there are too many people still around from that time, but for some reason, the name Krause rings a bell to me. I checked out the name of some of the older archive photos that we have, but no luck.
All records of Catholic Schools / Institutions are located at the Archdiocese of Chicago. If they are open at this time (because of Covid 19) you should be able to get through to someone. If so, I don't know how far behind they are. but it may take a while for you to get any of their records.
Follow this Link: http://www.angelguardianorphanage.com/AGOLinks.html
Click on the 2nd link in the 1st row (Access Your AGO Records) it will take you to the page with most of the information that you need. This page will tell you what to expect in your father's records.
Please keep in mind, that they will ONLY release the records to the NEXT OF KIN. Your two uncles family's have to request their father's records themselves. Also, When you receive your Dad's records, you may see things Blacked Out. Reason being is that if you enter with your siblings, everyone's name is in one big file, but you are only privy to your direct relative's information. So when they make a copy for YOU, they will black out your siblings info.
In reading through the page, it will give you an idea of what to expect in your Father's records. The link to the Archdiocese is included in this page. You can either email or call them. I myself called and spoke to someone on the phone.
When they get all his records together, they will contact you to let you know how much they will charge you. It all depends on how many copies they have to make, plus mailing fee. The whole process shouldn't take longer then a month or so. May I suggest that you mark down the date of your request so that if you don't hear from them in about a month, you can follow up. Like I said, because they were closed so long, it may take a while longer to get to your request.
Also their format has changed. When the link opens up, click on where it says "Request a Record" Make sure you ask of ALL the records available to you.
