Don...you have a sharp memory. After graduating from Quigley Seminary in 1959, I left AGO and went to Mundelein. In 1962 I was told by Archdiocesan officials that I could not pursue the priesthood in Chicago because my folks were separated and would be a possible cause of scandal..not sure of the logic. I went to Joliet and was ordained in 1966. I remember saying a second "First Mass" at AGO in June of 1966..perhaps you were there. Had a nice luncheon afterwards attended by all 4 of the AGO priests and nuns like Sr Julitta and Coletta and many others. I was a priest until I left in the mid 70's. Went to work at a company and worked there 31 years until my retirement. I have 2 other older brothers who were not at AGO. My brother Bill had three children, one of whom is a candidate for US Republican Senator from Illinois, Patrick Hughes from Hindsdale..he is way back in the pack but he is going to give it a shot. Hope this rather long narrative brings my resume up to date....thanx to you for your posts..I read them all the time.
