I read your message below. Yes, I read up on Upton Sinclair just recently. He was influenced greatly by the Socialist party -- even to running for election in California (I believe) and losing horribly. There is another one of his books that there was a reference to in that it was in two volumes. (Have to get the title of it, though.) I found the Jungle totally captivating and it is a book that I want to read again -- just to capture in my mind the horrific times our grandparents might have gone through -- especially in Chicago. I can't believe it is a novel. I do have Three Cups of Tea on my reading list. I just started "Picking Cotton". This is a true story. I float between novels and memoirs. Someone else has referred Teh Hunger Games to me but I think it is a Young Adult book. It must be popular though since we can't keep it in the library with all the holds on it.
