I was just wondering if any meet directors would like to provide real-time meet updates - providing there is internet access at the venue. This would be great for anyone that couldn't make it to the meet to see how it was going.
I created a sample web page for the next meet. The page allows someone to update the tables after a successful login. Without logging in, the tables can be viewed by anyone - just not updated.
After logging in you will see an update form for each division just below that division's table. Enter the lifter's ID and whatever field you want to update and click the Update button.
NOTE: The page is setup to refresh automatically every 5 minutes to show new updates (but you could refresh at anytime manually, of course). The Comments area is set up to append, so you can comment on each lift if you wanted without overwriting any previous text. Another thing, the Best Lift field is calculated automatically after each update. But for it to work, a "-" needs to be in front of any words ("miss" or "pass" for example, would need to be entered as -miss or -pass). Otherwise, the best lift would be that word.
Also, if you would like to use this page for the next meet, just let me know and I can get in touch with new login credentials. At that time the credentials in this message would no longer work.
If you see anything wrong or something that could be different, please let me know. This is practice for the database class that I'm taking.
Thanks, Brian

the final roster is now "up" for the Scrappy meet in the upcoming events section. that should be used as the initial input, it's alot more accurate than the one earlier in the week...

Ok, I believe I have it updated correctly. If anyone sees anything wrong just let me know.

wow, that's really cool! I'm sure Jackson will be licking his lips when he sees this. Maybe Jackson can give this a trial run this weekend, but the notice may be too short? this would be great for our nationals in June, it would help make us look bigtime!

Glad you liked it. It's not too short of notice for me. I believe it's ready to go. I just fixed some of the sorting issues. I have the tables sorted by Gender, Weight Class, Division, and then by Best Lift. It looks as though everything is working correctly.
All Jackson needs is a new set of credentials. He could send me an email with the Username and Password he wants and I will put that in the database. And that's it. He's ready to roll.
I see that you're ready. I meant it may be short notice for someone at the meet site to have internet access/input the info. Good question as to whether Hooversville even has the internet yet! Maybe someone will step up and do it.

Excellant idea Brian. And as long as you have a smart phone or a tablet, it really doesn't matter if they have Y-fi at the meet site. T page works just fine with an S-phone. I know that there will be a least 3 refs there, if we have 4-5 maybe I could at least update the best lift from each competitor at the end of each event while they are giving out trophies. I definitely would like for you to set one up for my Bragging Rights meet next month.

Hey Jackson, just letting you know I sent you an email with the web page for the Bragging Rights meet. Let me know if you do not receive it.
Scrappy Joe's page - Username and Password

Jackson, Just letting you know that the credentials in this thread (adau and pass123) are no longer valid for Scrappy Joe's page.
You can use the same Username and Password that you have for the Bragging Rights meet, for Scrappy Joe's page.
I'm not quite sure what's going on this weekend, but I'd like to make it to the meet to do the updates. Can't make any promises at this point, though.
