squating with boots?????????

So this topic might have already been discussed but i would like some input anyway.What does everyone think on squating with work boots?? Just wondering cause i am thinking about trying it but not sure if it will improve my squat or not.

I wear work shoes to squat and deadlift. They're stable and have a good arch. I've never worn any other kind of shoe to lift in, so I can't compare. The only disadvantage I can think of is when deadlifting, you're starting close to an inch higher; making you reach an inch lower to grip the bar. Work shoes aren't cute like in the USAPL but they do the job. As for myself, I'm not there to look good, only to lift my best. It's not a fashion show but is a power meet. Right !!!

Saw Don Reinhoudt squat 940 raw at the '74 IPF World's at the Zembo Mosque in Harrisburg wearing work boots that were only laced up halfway. Wonder if he still has them and can I borrow ?
