interesting facebook post

Was commenting on a friends facebook wall when this popped up, to say the least I was quite surprised.

"I wish nothing but pain, suffering, and harm to the ADAU. Then they had the audacity to apologize and kiss my ass after they realized who I was"

Having actually attended the meet that this individual was referring to (the nationals)my question is, who apologized, and for what?

I've done 6 ADAU meets, starting in 2000, and
I don't see what all the Whining and Gruffing is about.

just an elite lifter from another federation who had an ego larger than his lifts.....

Who knows what the test results would have been had I found him to test but was told he left the meet site before he was finished lifting after getting red lights for a lift attempt.

What's really funny about (name removed) is that the whole time in the warm-up area he was dissecting other lifters' depth, commenting that it wouldn't pass where he is from. But when he couldn't get up with his third skyscraper of a squat, the ADAU depth demands became ridiculously tough.

I was warming up next to the lifter in question and heard the comments about another lifter's depth and how it "wouldn't fly where he was from." I was also getting ready to lift when he got buried by the half-squat that aparently does fly where he comes from.

It's kind of funny that all legitimately strong lifters I have met are some of the most humble people out there. They don't need to pound their chests, reminding people "who they are." Their lifting does the talking for them. When I had the honor of sharing the podium with the great Tony Conyers at this year's Raw Unity, he was shaking my hand, telling me that guys like Alex and I are his inspiration and how we are the future of the sport. And he is one of the best lightweight lifters of all time, has won every Raw Unity lightweight division, and managed to hit, on a bad day for him, nearly 500 Wilks formula raw while being over 50 (and hit in the 530-range last year). I guess a legitimate mid-1500 total as a light 165-lber eliminates the need to remind people "who he is."

The problem stems from the fact that despite being highly educated, this guy's personal credibility has a lot to be desired. In layman's terms he's a bald faced liar.

Just in case anyone thought this was the entire extent of this guys opinion of his dealings with the ADAU, I have taken the liberty of posting his other "observations".

"No. This fed is sickening. I never thought there could be worse than USAPL, but this is it."

"The non-judge who came up to the platform to tell the other judges that my underwear was below my singlet on a f'ing 330 squat messaged me on Monday or Tuesday after I posted my report of me and Tom's experience."

"They gave Tom like an 8 second pause, and he almost knocked out the 16 year old head judge. (name omitted), save your energy for something else."

Gotta suck having to squat to depth and pause your benches. That's OK, there are plenty of federations where you don't have to do that.

These two were acting like world's biggest toddlers, throwing a temper tantrum when they didn't get their way, throwing f-bombs right on the platform (with plenty of kids right next to them). But I guess when you can't let your lifting do the talking, your big mouth has to work double time...

Jay, I purposely left this individuals name from my post. After all, from his post one would have to surmise that he is a force to be reckoned with in the power lifting community.(emphasis on sarcasm)

With a cursory look at the results from this meet one can ascertain the "disgruntled" individual.

As New Jersey state chairman I was charged with trying to resolve the issue. Our conversation (via FACEBOOK) was cordial. I never expressed an apology because one was not warranted. However I did offer an explaination and although he didn't agree with it, the conversation remained civil none the less and ended the same.

It ended with him saying that our federation was simply not his cup of tea and my wishing him "white lights" in future meets.

Thanks for the clarification. I agree that no apology was warranted,and was surprised at the acrimony of his post.

I guess what really caught my attention was this lifters "opinion" of himself. Who knew he was so famous?

I know who the guy is . I told him before the meet this is not for you. When i saw him there i told him these are the rules powerlifting started with not the circus you guys invented! I told him i will watch from the side and i did and after he got buried with it i told him you wre not even close. he got pissed and left saying stupid remarks. I saw him squat a ton of weights a mile high. No one asked him to come here!

Baptist it's amazing how people here what they want. The following is an exerpt from what Charles e-mailed me after the meet. This is what he "heard"

WEINGROFF...The worst of it was this. I have known Baptiste Nupieri since 2003 when I moved to the Philadelphia area. I am sure he is known as a friend to all powerlifting circles. Upon saying goodbye to him and suggesting this meet wasn't for me, his response in paraphrase was "I could've told you that before you got here. You never had a chance with the way they were going to judge you."
I am well aware that Baptiste is neither a judge or ADAU official, but he is in the know.

Well Jackson i was not defending him I simply told him that they are old school,This the way powerlifting started There are a set of rules Chuck is a nice guy always helping people out Iam shocked that he said those things
