Yes, tribulus (tribulus terrestris) is banned in the ADAU. The reason is that it may increase testosterone levels, which is how it is aggressively marketed - as being able "to increase testosterone levels" thereby leading to greater gains in size and strength. To my knowledge, there are no valid studies showing strength increases, however. And, in fact, how it might work is not understood. It may increase something called LH luteinizing hormone which is involved in the production of testosterone. It may therefore increase the hormone cascade including aromatization to female hormones! Also, over the years, several individuals have failed the urinalysis drug-test due to high T:E ratio and swore that the only thing they took was tribulus, so there is some history with that. Best to avoid this and stick to sound training, good diet and legitimate nutritional supplementation, if you so desire. dr. Nick
