I cannot attend the USAPL Raw Nationals due to some last minute family conflicts, so I wish to ask your permission to compete at the ADAU nationals. I have been increasingly interested in the ADAU due to the knee suport issue etc with the USAPL and would love the opportunity to lift at the ADAU nationals if I may.
Please e-mail back when you can. I would be competing at 275 in the Open class only, if allowed.

207.255.153.67I've knownRay for over twenty five years, going all the way back to his college days at Temple University and competing in the USPF.
He lifted in some of our AAU meets prior to us starting the ADAU.
There are 6 great lifters competing in the 275# Open class and this one should go down to the last deadlift for who places where.
That's the reason you stayed up in the 319's and I went down to the 242's.

Just kidding - when I saw Doug, Dennis & Rob (before he pulled out) plus the others I knew the 275s were stacked & I was just going to have to focus on my own lifts & "let the chips fall where they may." A fight for 4th place... Congrats to you & the board for a successful turnout.

71.187.183.222I agree with you, Al. The focus needs to be on broadening beyond Pennsylvania lifters, but I think within the U.S. before looking internationally. I don't have great ideas about how to do that, but I will say that moment is on your side, both in terms of raw lifting growing explosively, and in the impressive numbers you have drawn for this contest. It makes an interesting contrast with a fading fed I won't bother mentioning.
Anyway, I'm really looking forward to this, and as the only NJ lifter attending, at least I am doing my small part in drawing from the non-PA crowd. - Re: Nationals Update as of July 6th

98.231.132.79FYI, if I counted correctly, the recent 100% Tribustol nationals had 22 full Powerlifters (not counting 2 who were apparently no-shows). For the single lifts, there were 0 Squatters, 42 Benchers (exactly half were crossovers from PL) and 6 Deadlifters (1 crossover). So a total of 48 lifters. They also had Strict Curl competition, 12 Curlers (6 crossovers), so you can add 6 to the 48 for an overall total of 54. - Re: Nationals Update as of July 6th
