I guess I need to put my two cents in on this merger of the ADAU and 100% raw.
The purpose was to expand and combine all meets and resources into one main association.
100% raw gained the states that the ADAU has, and the ADAU gained a world championship. Was this not the intent?
Between both organizations, there should be, at a minimum, a state championship, a national championship, and a world championship every year, with a couple of other local meets to fill up the schedule. Isn’t this what everyone wanted and isn’t this what everyone trains for???? I know that a world championship was a sticking point with the ADAU for a long time.
The meet schedule for the next year should be in place by the end of December, at the latest, so lifters can get their schedules and cycles set up.
This makes for better planning all around.
Also, the meets should be split up into a two day event when the total number of entries is at a point that will make the meet an endurance event rather than a power meet.
Also, what is the difference if the weights used in a meet are in pounds or kilos? Weight is weight and it shouldn’t matter.
Last comment. Why will the combined organization be run like our government. We have representatives making decisions for what they think we want, rather than finding out what the members really want. Should it not be that the members get copies of the proposed plans, and actually have a vote on the changes, rather than a few dictating the changes?
Does anyone else have any thoughts on this? I really don’t see much input from the members. This is your chance to express yourself and have input to the changes that affect our organization, rather than wait and complain later. After all, without the members, there wouldn’t be an association.
