Think of it this way:
Records are records; let the best lifters set them,
but you have to pay for trophies - they cost money!
The ADAU cuts you a break by acknowleging your record setting performance even if you didn't pay the crossover fee for the age group. But if you want something nice and shiny to put on your shelf, there is a cost (crossover fee) involved.
