I asked Joe about gear checks once, and his explanation was to the effect that there was no way to prevent someone from getting one suit checked and then putting a different one on. The only way to be sure would be to check it during the actual lifting. That makes a lot of sense to me.
Isn't it pretty easy to spot illegal suits and shirts just by eyeballing them during the lifts? It might be harder if the rules weren’t so simple, like if single-ply was allowed but not multi-ply. Question in that regard is - how difficult is it to spot things like squat briefs under a legal suit?
So is this a significant problem in the ADAU?
When you witnessed people using squat suits,
did you rat them out? I would have.
