Posted by bash I've been working with Mark on ideas and there are a few things in the works as far as fundraising goes...just need to work on the details. I AM OPEN TO ANY AND ALL IDEAS, honestly. Should we have another get-together at Interskate to help raise money? There's not much as far as a "work party" to do at the new location.... It's ready to go, it just needs that final "push". Does anyone know or have ideas regarding any other fundraisers? Anyone's parents know someone who knows someone who can help? Talk to as many people as you know, have them talk to people they know. Send a postcard to the Mayor. Call Parks and Rec and see if there's anything you can do to help. Just a phone call shows interest. Keeping Interskate clean and just skating there, using it - shows people that there's an interest in having a place to skate. The second skatepark is already drawn up on blueprints, by an actual architect. It will be all brand new cement, from the ground up. All the forms and obstacles will be cement, and from what I have pushed for, everything will have angle iron, much like Middletown (Baker Bowl in Middletown OH). This will be a permanent site, no ramps getting soggy or jacked up from people moving them around. No screws sticking out. And the entire park is bascially more street style orientated. Boxes, flat banks, rails, ledges, steps... In the whole park, there's only one thing that has transition on it, (as in a curved surface) and that's a small street spine. This could and should be a reality soon, and any help you provide is nothing but a positive thing. If you have any ideas or want to help, send me an email. Mark is working hard and I'm trying to do anything I can so we can skate it before winter. Thanks and take care. Bash

Here's what I know: Mark Fuller of Parks and Rec and whatnot is still working hard on getting the park going, the money situation is providing a challenge. Basically, Mark is working to make each dollar stretch and the best way he can be helped (short of raising more cash, which always helps) is to show city officials and as many people as possible that there is still a large interest in getting the 2nd skatepark built, which is to be called Southpark, as it is more "south" in location - the Putnam area, behind the VFW. The lot has been cleared and some gravel has been put down.
