Hi Sonya, Hazel, Sasa,
At the weekend I went to see the The Old Forge at Totnes. The cottage has a twin-bedded and a double-bedded room with a sofa that can be turned into a bed (in the living room which doubles up as a kitchen area). So realistically, the 3 of us could share but no more. I found it a little cramped, so any more, we would be on top of one another! The cost is £130 per night. (based on 4 people - may be different for 3!) It is within easy walking distance of Totnes and not at all far from Rattery. I have reserved the cottage provisionally until Wed. 5.p.m. by which time, I have to get back to the owner with a definite answer.
Meanwhile there is this fantastic venue called Dartington Hall where I was staying last weekend, within 10 mts. from Rattery. Hotel-like accommodation, single, twin or double room £61.50 per person per night, includes full En glish breakfast and two-course dinner (high class cuisine!) also a bar and the most wonderful gardens. It really is very peaceful there and very special. I think it is better value and I personally would prefer to stay there! Perhaps we could discuss this as a possiblility when we all meet?!?!? I wish you all a good and safe journey to Croydon Hall.
Helen
