Posted by Melonie --Previous Message-- :Just wondering if in your case your son was knocked kneed as well, the podiatrist is thinking maybe that is occuring because he walks slightly different because his middle toes curl under the second ones? They are telling me it will be fine!!! But he didnt come out of the last operation too well, he was given narcain to bring him around! Sorry i have dragged it on but its late Thursday night and i have very little time to ponder, with lots of concerns. thanks for your information i will certainly question the podiatrist about that in the morning

: Ok am only replying to this because at
: the age of 4 they wanted to do this
: to my son and I said no! He is 15
: now and the curled under toes are
: straighter than I can ever have
: imagined! My son tells me now he
: hated all the procedures, all the
: visits etc and I am so glad that
: anything that isn't lifethreatening
: to him we refuse! Not sure what your
: son's toes are like...we used
: silicone seperators for the toes and
: they gradually helped...but I
: thought, from what I'd been told
: that he would always have curly
: toes! Not so!
:
:Hi, thanks for your response.
: They have told me that fixing his toes is worth a try because it may help the orthodics better align the knees,(i mean he might walk normal and not roll inwards if the toes are straight)
:Any ways the podiatrist told me i dont even want to know what they do to correct knocked knees!!! So thats why we are considering it, not for cosmetic purposes.
My main concern is it safe for him to be getting operated on so soon after the pharyngoplasty and zplasty? Do they put tubes in the airways while they are under?
I think once i get there i am going to tell them i cant do it and make them book me in some time next year?
thanks
melonie
