Ok am only replying to this because at the age of 4 they wanted to do this to my son and I said no! He is 15 now and the curled under toes are straighter than I can ever have imagined! My son tells me now he hated all the procedures, all the visits etc and I am so glad that anything that isn't lifethreatening to him we refuse! Not sure what your son's toes are like...we used silicone seperators for the toes and they gradually helped...but I thought, from what I'd been told that he would always have curly toes! Not so!
: Hi, this is melonie again!!!!!!
: My 4yr old son Connor just on the
: 5th of October had a pharyngoplasty
: and Z plasty done, he is recovering
: well.
: But today I had a phonecall from the
: orthopeadic surgeon and they want
: him to go in on Monday 24th October
: and get his toes pinned. We are not
: privately insured so i know if i say
: no, it may not get done for 2years.
: My problem is that i would like to
: have his toes straightened before he
: starts Kindergarten (2007) but i am
: worried that it is putting him
: through too much all at once.
: Any thoughts or opinions or
: experience would be greatly
: appreciated.
