Anemia and DGS

My 2year old son has low hemoglobin. I believe it has been going on all of his life, but there has always been an explanation on why it was low. Now it has been found to be low again and no explanation. I will be taking him to a Hemotologist, but I was wondering if anyone has any experience with this?
