We thought that things were getting better, our daughter had been sleeping in a playpen in our room, because I wouldn't put her in our bed anymore. Then she was fine for a couple of months, but now she is back at it. She doesn't want to go to bed and when she does she sleeps for a bit, but then she is up screaming in the night.
This has been a bad week anyway. Every morning this week she has decided that se does not want to go to daycare. She starts crying the minute we put her shoes on at our house all the to daycare.
It's strange. We are trying to figure out what things are possibly part of the syndrome and what is just part of her character.
Take care.

: I know I'm posting late on this
: thread, but it's nearly 11pm and my
: 11 y.o. daughter with 22q is still
: up. Again. I came to the board to
: ... what? look for input. vent.
:
: I hope you have a better road than I
: have on this sleep issue. It's been
: nothing but frustration since this
: child was a baby (in terms of
: sleep). She never slept good
: through the night. When she was a
: little older, she slept on the floor
: in our bedroom, then for a much
: shorter time she actually slept
: relatively well in her own bed.
:
: But, it seems all good things must
: end. now for example, she won't go
: to sleep unless I'm physically in
: her bedroom. I've put a rocking
: chair near her bed to make myself
: comfortable. When she finally falls
: asleep, I sneak from her room,
: hoping she won't wake up, because if
: she does she wanders down the
: stairs, crying and sometimes yelling
: and wakes up the whole house. It's
: like having a baby again, only with
: more anger and frustration on my
: part.
:
: Then as the cherry on top, we go to
: a psychiatrist for meds and he tells
: me it's because she's a middle
: child. Putz.
: We did get a medication -
: Chlonodine. It MAY have a minimal
: effect. If things don't turn
: around, Dr. Insightful is going to
: have to up the meds, or we'll look
: for someone else.
:
: Sorry to be a downer. I guess I've
: figured out why I'm on the board
: tonight. To vent.
:
: Best of luck with your children

: Our daughter is 2 years old. She
: was
: dignosed with Digeorge Syndrome in
: her 1st week of life. She had Open
: heart surgery at 3 months old, to
: remove a Vascular ring and to repair
: 2 VSD's. She is doing quite well
: today. She is a very bright child
: as far as understanding goes. She
: is starting to speak. She is slowly
: potty training.
:
: We are having a terrible time at
: night to get her to bed. She still
: sleeps in a crib, she has shown no
: interest into moving into a bed. We
: have it in her room already.
: Sometimes she doesn't sleep through
: the night, we made the mistake of
: bringin her into our bed. Last
: night I set up her playpen in our
: room and explained to her that if
: she was going to sleep in our room
: that is where she has to sleep. She
: went right to sleep. This was after
: being in the crib and crying for 1/2
: hour. Does anyone else have
: sleepless nights? We are up at
: least 3 nights a week.
