Our daughter was also born with mild TOF. I knew in my heart that something else was going on with her. Everyone said I was just looking for more problems. She was an irritable baby who woke up at night every 2 hours. She didn't want to eat, she didn't really coo, she smiled later than our first daughter did. My daughter was not diagnosed until she was 11 months old--3 weeks before her TOF repair. Push for testing. Many hospitals test all children for deletions if there is a heart problem. If your son has diGeorge, he must have certain tests done before his surgery. He also needs to have irradiated blood for his transfusions. It is very important that he gets diagnosed!

: I have a 6 week old with mild TOF. He
: is going to have surgery when he 6
: months. I am concerned because he
: does not make consistent eye contact
: and rarely smiles. I know they
: looked him over in the hospital for
: signs of Digeorge but didn't see
: anything that alarmed them at the
: time. I am just wondering if anybody
: else saw these signs in their child.
: I don't know if I am being paranoid.
: Please let me know your thoughts.
