Hello. I have never emailed anyone regarding prenatal diagnosis but saw your email and wanted to response. My daughter was born 6/15/06 and we found out 6 months into the pregnancy after I started bleeding. Bed rest and lots of complications put me in the hospital for 7 weeks. Carmen had heart surgery almost one yr. after birth and has major feeding issues. I never thought for a minute about abortion. She is such a sweet child but it is definately work with learning about the disorder, doctors and meeting her needs all the time. Please email if you have specific questions and I would be more than happy to offer advice or just listen, which ever you need.
Sincerely,
Tricia Widener

: Hi, my baby has been diagnosed with
: Tetrology of Fallot and now with the
: ch22q11 deletion from a prenatal
: FISH test. So now we are penciled
: in at the genetic counselor's
: office. Has anyone found themselves
: with a prenatal diagnosis? I don't
: see any stories online from parents
: who knew about this before their
: baby was born. Is prenatal
: diagnosis new or are parents
: encouraged to abort? I don't think I
: could do that, she is so lively
: already.
