Posted by Caryn B. Immediately after birth she began having feeding issues. They called her a floppy baby becuase she has low muscle tone. she had a heart murmer and some valve issues in her heart that is not uncommon in VCFS. Hope this helps you and if you have any questions, just let me know.

Karen, I am not an expert but I can tell you how they found the VCFS in my daughter and how it has shown up in her life through today. My daughter is 4 1/2 with a mild form of VCFS but very classic symptoms.
She has some appearance things like small eyes with epicanthal fold on the inner eye. She has long tapered fingers, a small ribcage and small shoulder blades. She also has a very high palate and short tongue and so she is now having some speech delays. She has had very minor physical and learning developement delays. She seems to flag as delayed and then she will suddenly catch up. she will again lag with new concepts, activities and then she will catch up again. She did not walk until she was 18 months old. They are saying she is right on target now for Kindergarten skills and we are very happy because when they first tested her a year ago- she was very delayed.
