Last week I reported about this model and the work required to complete it. I have now finished it. Two areas of serious time and effort involved here. First, the removal of the wall that is cast on below the waterline. This structure is NOT a full hull, but rather part of the casting process. It is open at the bottom and has some large holes around the sides. It can be removed with a Dremel saw wheel.
Second is the white and buff paintwork. Very time consuming, and overall grey would have been much easier. But except for 1898 and WW I the ship was almost always W/B. This model represents the ship around 1900 so I decided to do W/B.
