24.06.1982 Transport of survivors of 2nd and 3rd battalion the Parachute Regiment to Ascension for return flight to UK.
05.07.1982 Takes over the infantry regiment Queen's Own Highlanders (this is the version with the stylised coat of arms on the chimney front) and another 15 inhabitants of the Falkland Islands for the return journey to the UK.
With the ship's side lettering made pretty again for the big arrival parade otherwise she came back decorated with numerous rusty noses.
In addition to the large Wessex and Sea King helicopters - there were still the smaller helicopters on board the warships - 4 Chinooks were shipped to the Falklands with the MV Atlantic Conveyor destined for landing. After the Argentine attack on the ship, only the famous Bravo November "survived" the attack and the landing had to be made on foot.
Incidentally, the English captured an Argentine Chinook
We wish you all a nice day and a relaxing weekend.
