Re: Model Master gone
About 8 years ago, we had to repaint a 32 ft PBR at the Mare Island Museum. We needed a Vietnam era Mil spec Marine Corps Green. There was not time or money to go chasing where ever that might be found. Tamiya makes an extremely accurate green plastic Mk 2 PBR. We took an unfinished model to Lowes and the paint man scanned the green plastic hull. He rubbed a little blended up green on the inside of the model hull and you could not tell the difference. We used 10 gal of this latex mixed to order to repaint the boat and it looked just like the mil spec where there was no weathering. fyi that boat stays in side all the time so we used latex to save money and spray it on with a Wagner. Lowes, HD probably could work for you too with a large enough area of the desired color to analyze. If this works you can just redistribute excess to others at the meeting. You are not the first crazy person to do this, just the most recent. JW Previous Message Is this a crazy idea but could I take a sample of say Old Concrete to the paint store where they can match up the color and give you a pint? Previous Message In May 2020 Rust-Oleum, which owns Testors, announced that MM, Pactra and Aztek paint lines were being discontinued. They don’t give a damn about hobbyists. Previous Message Because I have a better chance of seeing Bigfoot before I find a bottle of PS, I'll use MM.
