1250 SCALE MESSAGE BOARD
[ Post a Response | 1250 SCALE MESSAGE BOARD ]
Thanks for everyone's assistance and offers of help.
It is much appreciated. I think I will contact the 1250 decal company and see if they are willing to produce a carrier flight deck number set, not only in black, but yellow and white as well.
...even though they aren't listed in their catalog. Drop them an email via their "Contact" page. https://1-1250-decals.jimdo.com/
I was reviewing an article you wrote for this forum some time ago on converting a Neptune Essex to Hornet. Like yours, my Essex is the old style with glued on flight deck. I have successfully removed the flight deck, and stripped it of paint without problem.
I am now considering stripping the hull and superstructure, as the original paint job will not appear as fresh and new as the refurbished flight deck. I intend to keep her as Essex in the her 1943 appearance, so I will not need any further modification. My questions are:
1. Did you strip your hull and superstructure, and if so did you find that some of the small parts came loose in the process?
2. Where did you source the decals in black for the flight deck? I know a set of such decals was produced in the UK some time back, but are long out of production. Unfortunately all of the decals produced by Starfighter in this scale are post 1950 vintage.
Thank you in advance for your response.
