Re: WIN a free Handmade Ship!
going by 1931 Janes it is a FUBUKI but the turret amidships seems to be based on a couple of very dark pictures that do show "something" there, and the stern turret is missing!
I Recently received a ship collection of early 1920's ship models made of wood and wire (Like Bass or Lime wood). Included were 20 of the same design I could not identify. The rest of the models were easily identifiable. Attached are some pictures.
The first person who can come up with a verifiable identification of the model wins it (just pay $7.50 shipping). By verifiable, I mean a plan drawing or description that makes sense from a published source. I do believe the models came from the early 1920's, as the other models, wood box, shipping tag seem to bear that out. Came from UK.
I have an plausible idea, but don't want to taint the research efforts. It made be a planned ship that came out differently. A periord Janes might help (one of the other models I could only find in a 1914 Janes). Good Luck!
