Re: Italian Navy Azio-class minelayer
It might be better if you e-mailed the plans, etc., to me at "firstname.lastname@example.org". In the meantime, I will see if I can find anything on IJN Okitsu. Just glad to be of help.
Thanks so much for the offer, but I would want to compensate you for your time and materials.
The particular vessel I want of this class is the Lepanto as the IJN Okitsu. This vessel was taken over by the IJN and renamed Okitsu.
Info. from Wiki:
Lepanto was extensively used in China, and when the Second World War broke out, was still there unscathed, Italy being allied with Japan. After the surrender of Italy to the Allies on 8 September 1943, Lepanto was scuttled by her crew, but was raised by the Japanese. She was renamed Okitsu (Japanese: ‹»’Ã) and used for escort duties for the rest of conflict. She was then seized by the Republic of China Navy and finally the People's Liberation Army Navy and renamed Sien Ning. In July 1950 Sien Ning seized a British merchantman. Struck in 1956, the ship was scrapped in the same year.
I will post what info. and drawings I have for both the Azio-class and the Okitsu when I have scanned it.
