There is to know that the Norvegian Royal familly was evacuated by a Royal Navy ship since it was in great difficulty to escape the continent after sinking of the expected liner for by German bombers.
In an epic errance aboard small boats in small boats embarking Royal Norwegians they sailed fjords to fjords by night by little port of scales and taking cover at day to escape German aircrafts. That was much more foolish is that a part of the Norvegian gold bullions national treasury was out of evacuation average too in the lose of the bombed liner and bullions were loaded and unloaded in panic changing of boats to boats with the Royal familly. The story say they got finally refuge in hight sea on a British warship and I guess now it was the DEVONSHIRE !
In occurence of what the DEVONSHIRE's officers got really of the GLORIOUS fate truely happening in the radio call, one can wonder if it was not the best idea in their mind to be curious of events enough 100 km further and to bring the DEVONSHIRE with gold bullions and the royal familly under Germans guns in the area ?
: I think she was also carrying RAF Gladiators
: as well as the Hurricanes. Certainly more
: than 40 RAF personnel were among the 1500+
: casualties, the few survivors were picked up
: the next day.
: Also HMS Devonshire with the Norwegian Royal
: Family on board was within 100 miles and
: picked up some or all of a radio message

: was made secret for 100 years (until 2041)
