According to the article, USN had two classes of pure water tankers in addition to the four distilling ships you mention...they don't look any different from the standard tankers from which they were converted. The distilling ship with derrick would make a good Saratoga offering, but your pipeline is already full I imagine! Thanks for the response....

: More correctly these were distilling ships,
: which converted salt water to clean water
: for drinking etc.
:
: I don’t know of any models of these ships.
: The USN had four in WW II, two converted
: from Liberty ships and two converted from
: T-2 tankers. The two Liberty ships don’t
: look much different from a standard Liberty.
: But the two tankers had a large derrick
: type structure amidships, which made them
: quite distinctive. A model of one of those
: would be something different.

: Just read an interesting, if brief, article
: on USN Water Tankers in Warship
: International. Do we have any in our scale?
: I note there were a couple of Liberty
: tankers converted to this purpose and could
: start there. Any advice appreciated with
: thanks.
