It is not difficult to do your own dashed lines. I buy solid white and other solid colored decal sheets and using a steel straight edge cut my own lines. If you don't want to cut and line up individual dashes, then put on a straight uncut line, and using the same paint color as the deck, paint breaks in the line. It's easy and works just fine.
: I used the Gakken book as well but had no
: proper white dashed line decals and cutting
: and aligning 30 dashes seem like way too
: much work. If I had it to do over, I might
: order some decals from 1250 Decals. One
: other thing, Gakken book shows the forward
: elevator but all references say that these
: two had no hangers much like the MAC
: conversions such as Gadila and Macoma.
: Perhaps the just lowered out of service
: aircraft below to free up limited deck space

: Very nice Charles. I am working my other
: 2TL to a different armament configuration
: based on some pics and 1/700 models
: (probably like the Kyokuun Maru) I have
: seen. I have just cleaned the carrier
: models and will begin working those soon. My
: flight deck markings will probably differ
: from yours based on what I have seen in my
: "Perfect Guide, The Aircraft Carriers
: of the Imperial Japanese Navy and Army"
: published by Gakken. Interestingly, in the
: "Visual Guide of the Japanese Wartime
: Merchant Marine 2" by Tashiro Iwashige
: shows a flight deck painted dark gray with
: no markings and the drawing above it shows
: some striping on the flight deck. However,
: as the ships were never completed. so any
: idea on what would have been applied
: operationally is purely speculation.
